Museum of Minerals

The Museum of Minerals in San Giovanni introduces its visitors into the fascinating world of rocks of the Zillertal Alps. The Museum of Minerals in San Giovanni in the Valle Aurina is a very interesting museum exhibiting many minerals of the surrounding mountain. It hosts the findings of the passionate collector Artur Kirchler, who collected more than 950 rocks in the area of the Zillertal Alps and the Hohe Tauern mountain range. Very interesting are the biggest smoky quartz rocks in South Tyrol as well as a very rare crystal found in the mine of Predoi. Moreover, in the multimedia room of the museum you can learn a lot about the forming, searching and finding of minerals, as well as about their medicinal benefits.

Trail of St. Francis
