Sporty, adventurous people should definitely visit the Enzwaldile climbing garden in Cadipietra and venture into the wild waters of the Aurino River on a rafting trip. Get ready for lots of “ooohhhs” and “ahhhhs” on a ride on the “Alpine Coaster” and the Flyline on the Klausberg. A visit to Dinoland is also great fun for the whole family. Let your inner cowboy out in Lutago and roam the mountains with Herbert and his western horses. Breathing problems or hay fever? Then head for the climate tunnel in Predoi. The special microclimate there is a real treat. Would you like some more vacation tips for Valle Aurina? Castel Taufers

The beautiful and large castles in South Tyrol

The Taufers Castle rates among one of the most powerful, beautiful and large castles in South Tyrol. From the 13th century the Lords of Taufers resided here, in all their majesty, as one of the most powerful aristocrats of Tyrol. The dynasty died out in 1340. Then the castle fell into different hands and ultimately threatened to ruins. In 1907 renovations began under Ludwig von Lobmayr.

Since 1977 the castle is in possession of the South Tyrolean Castle Institute.
